Cokin’s Corner, Monday 6/17/19
I guess it’s really no surprise that with things the way they are this season, we had to get a record broken. First of many, no doubt. This one took place at Coors Field, where the Padres and Rockies set a new record for most runs scored in a four-game series. Fittingly, it was mostly the fault of a bullpen, in this case that of the Rockies. Their relief corps basically couldn’t get anyone out, which allowed the Padres to stage two huge rallies that resulted in the two team splitting a series Colorado probably should have swept.
That’s a segue into today’s free play. The Padres are back in San Diego, and Petco sure isn’t Coors. Joey Lucchesi on the hill for the Friars, and he’s pretty reliable, especially the first couple trips through the batting order. Jhoulys Chacin throws for Milwaukee. Chacin missed a couple weeks with some back issues and has had a pretty terrible season. But this is “home” for Chacin. He was tough in this ballpark when he was a Padre, and I like him to do well here, at least once or twice through the order. With that in mind, here’s the free play.
BREWERS (Chacin) at PADRES (Lucchesi)
Take: F5 UNDER 4.5
