Cokin’s Corner, Saturday 5/5/18

  • May 5, 2018

My usual weekend blog format, which is just a previous day recap and the new free play.

My Friday went well, with a 3-2 MLB result. All five plays were underdogs, so the net gain for the day was two full units. Season to date is currently +14.5 net and I’m on three games for Saturday as of now. Feel free to email me at cokin@cox.net for details on available subscription options.

The Friday free play got very dicey at the finish line, but the underdog Rockies held on to beat the Mets. Today’s comp is on one of the NBA playoff games. Note this is a split wager.

CELTICS at 76ERS

Take: 76ERS -7/-9 (First Half/Full Game Split)

Based on where the line is for the half and full game, I think the right move here is to play both ends for a half unit each. Expect the 76ers to come out with great intensity. I also can see where, if there’s a game where the Celtics night not be at their best, this is likely the one. I know going in I’m paying a major premium to bet the first half but will do so anyway. The full game at -9 is actually more reasonable, so I will go ahead and split a unit on the two options.
