Cokin’s Corner, Saturday 6/15/19
The usual Saturday morning quick hit, with just the recap for the prior night and today’s free play. I split a pair on Friday, missing by a mile with the Marlins but getting home easily with the White Sox and the scoring hot Lucas Giolito. Here’s the Saturday free play.
CUBS (Darvish) at DODGERS (Buehler)
Take: F5 UNDER 4.5
There’s no way I can comfortably play any full game Under. The bullpens throughout baseball are incredibly volatile, worst I’ve ever seen. But I’ll go ahead with projected low scoring pitching for half the game as is the case here. Darvish has gotten over his horrid control issues to a pretty good extent. He’s still vulnerable to the occasional big inning but seems to be finding a pretty good rhythm. Aside from that one bad inning at Colorado last start, Darvish has been quite good of late. Walker Buehler has certainly found his form, looking completely dominant in his two most recent starts. I think the two pitchers get the job done early tonight and I’m playing the F5 Under.
