Cokin’s Corner, Thursday 3/23/17

  • March 22, 2017

I’ve still got two more divisions to cover as far as the 2017 MLB previews are concerned. I’m expecting to have the AL West set by tomorrow, so expect that rundown in Friday’s blog.

My Wednesday was a wash. Coastal Carolina was a comfortable winner in hoops, but I missed on two of the three MLBx plays, getting done in by some shoddy bullpen work. As for Thursday evening, I’ve got two Big Dance Sweet 16 sides, plus a couple of NHL plays. One of the hockey selections is today’s free play.

The March Madness deal will remain available through the end of the month. The package runs a full 30 days and all my plays in all sports are included. Plus, the daily Pros vs. Joes info is part of the plan as well. Buy securely via PayPal by utilizing the dropdown menu on this page. Or, for more detailed info on how everything works, simps shoot an email my way at cokin@cox.net.

So much for that 76ers cover streak against winning teams, as the Wednesday free play got buried. As noted, this was an extra opinion that fortunately never made my card. Tonight’s comp is on the ice, and this one has already been played as a half unit selection.

23 JETS at 24 KINGS

Take: 23 JETS +135

Winnipeg is on a three-game winning streak for just the second time all season. But their current form has little to do with this opinion.

Although they’re still technically alive for a wild card playoff spot, the reality is the Kings are close to dead in the water at this point. Los Angeles failed to take advantage of a lengthy home stand, garnering only nine of a possible 14 points. They then hit the road and lost at both Calgary and Edmonton.

The Kings are still saying all the right things. But if you watch them play, LA looks like an old team with tired legs and their offense right now is simply not producing. I would rate this game a tossup and I just can’t justify the Kings being priced this high. Value call on the Jets at a nice price.
