Cokin’s Corner, Thursday 4/4/19
The one negative about the switch to morning blogs, rather than the late evening concept I’ve utilized for several years, is that I don’t have much time to do much editorializing. But as the majority of the visitors here are mostly interested in the daily free play rather than whatever i’m in the mood to spout off about, I guess it’s not a problem.
I split my two Wednesday MLB plays, losing a tough 1-0 decision with the Reds, but rallying to get the Braves home in the evening. The free plays are 3-0 since the time switch, so that; a a good thing.
Here’s today’s comp, but note that unlike the prior three, this one is just a lean and not a personal play at this time. It appears as though I might have just one actual play today, and that’s on an early game. I’d rather post night games here so more visitors have a chance to tail if they wish. Anyway, here’s a quick opinion on one of tonight’s games.
RANGERS (Volquez) at ANGELS (Harvey)
Take: ANGELS -135
This one is in the opinion category for me as of now. If the market drives the price down a little more, I might add it as a selection. But for now, a lean on Harvey and the Halos. It’s not a bad scheduling spot with Texas heading on the rod off a really satisfying series with the rival Astros, and I certainly do not like Edinson Volquez. The flip side is that LAA offense, which has been simply brutal thus far. At -125, I’d probably be backing the Angels. At the current tag, just a lean to the Halos.
UPDATE: After sizing up bullpen usage, I’ve decided there’s enough to go ahead and justify going ahead with the Angels as a personal play.
